Overnight fishing: We left the dock at 5:00pm and got up the beach around the point(590line) and set out our gear. 15 minutes into it we had our first strike but it pulled off. After that we really started to get busy. The charter caught and released 9-11 Makos and a few Hammerheads. It was like gaffer or Cobia fishing. We would hook a mako our hammerhead and a Mako would swim up with the fish that was hooked. It was some of the best Mako fishing we have seen.

Blackfin, Yellowfin Tuna and a nice mako. The water had pushed in up around the 300 line. It took a while to get where we were going put it paid off. We caught a 95 pound Mako while fighting a Tuna on the Spreader Bar(Blue and White squids). Fishing over all was slow through out the Fleet but we made the best of it.

We had an exceptional day on Blackfin Tuna. We set our trolling spread out around the weather buoy out of Hatteras NC. I started trolling up the beach in about 45 fathoms. I saw a few marks on the bottom machine and the charter sent a few jigs down to see what the marks were. Blackfin Tuna all you could want. We had 8 citations and over 500 pounds of fish

Jigging Blackfin Tuna: we were on the 180 line out of Hatteras. The fish were working some bait in about 35 fathoms. The depth of the bottom was 55 fathoms. These fish would rarely be caught trolling because of the depth they were feeding. When we cleaned the 20 blackfins they had 2" -3" squid in them so I would assume that was what they were feeding on.  The customers had a blast and plenty of meat to share with friends. I can't wait until the Yellowfins show up.

Bluefin Tuna: We had 3 bites at different times but in the same area. The water temp was 65.9 in 65 fathoms between the 292 line up to the 320 line. We managed to hook one of the fish and Ken fought it for about 40 minutes. The fish was 68 inches long and about 200-225 pounds. The fish bit a Eye Catcher Supreme Witch on 80 pound Tuff Stuff fluoro-carbon). I do not recommend using such light leader but days before the fish were mostly 50 inches and 80 worked fine and it seemed to get bit more than the 180 fluoro-carbon. The blackfin tuna came off our Vertical Jigs (Williamson) near the hard change. We would have caught more but it was hard to stay on the mark with the current flowing from 3-4 knots

Bottom fishing in the deep. We caught our limit of tiles and 2 nice snowy groupers. One of the groupers weight was 40 pounds. We were fishing in a 100 fathoms on the triple zeros to the southern. Mostly using squid and some fresh albacore.
